KILN SCHEDULE

Our Kilns are constantly being fired, and when they are not there is an important reason why. We do not use a calendar-type schedule for kiln firings as we have to go off of studio production. We fire the kilns generally 3-4 times a week sometimes more, sometimes less. Monday through Sunday, 7 days a week, we may have one or all kilns running.

So when do we Fire? The Answer is: When the Bone-Dry Shelves are full enough to warrant filling a firing the Bisque kiln; we do so. The same goes with our glaze ware. If you are in need of a specialty firing for overglaze, luster, decals, etc, please place that work on that appropriate shelf with kiln tickets and it will be fired. Always plan way ahead, and if you need a piece “ahead of schedule” let us know and we will try to be accomodating.

OUR KILN LOG is the best place to obtain the most recent information regarding kiln updates. The Kiln Log is an updated log-in that our technicians use to track kiln tickets, kiln usage and repairs; it is located on a clip-board between the ware shelves in the Kiln Room. YOU WILL FIND what kiln is in use, what kind of firing it is (bisque/ glaze/ other) and the (aprox.) IN and OUT days. You can see who loaded it, and if you know your Tech Schedule, you will know who to talk to about it, should you have other questions.
